Skin Care in growing years

The women who are in their 30s and 40s need to know that if they wish to have a radiant skin , emphasis on good habits and daily skin care is a must, because that is the only way to fight the advancing years. There are no miracle treatment for skin that has lost its youthful bloom and elasticity, except finally to have it lifted by plastic surgery.

No one knows what it is that signals our body to start aging. But, at a certain time, and this varies enormously from woman to woman our cell capacity to renew slows down.

The downward path usually begins in early 30s when small expression lines begin to show and the skin loses its firmness. At this stage, regular skin care is vital, for it really can slow down the aging process.

As a woman approaches the age of menopause, from the mid 40s to 50s, the fine lines start turning into wrinkles, the skin becomes creepy, loses its smoothness and springiness, and begins to bag and sag. Again, proper skin care can help a great deal.

At this stage the supply of oestrogen hormone is slowing down, which brings about the skin changes.

All beauticians agree that the neglect or care that the skin receives over the years decides on how quickly it ages. But there are other factors involved- your general health, your diet, your environment and your hereditary characteristics. If your mother looked 40 when she was 60, the chances are that you too will.

You should always keep observing the changes in the skin so that you can make relevant changes and adjustments in the kind of product that you are using. For example, oily skin gets much less oily as it gets older and if you still continue using strong astringent that you have been using for years, you will be doing more harm than good.

The skin products you were using in your 20s are not suitable to those that you should use in your 30s and those used in 30s need to be changed when you come in your 40s.

As you grow older, use products that are enriched with Vitamin E, and anti-oxidant and natural anti-aging herbal ingredient in your beauty products. Fortunately, today a wide array of products of SGS Herbals is readily available  and you can get just the right product that best suits your age, skin type and need.

Having chosen your products to suit your skin type and age, you must now allow yourself an extra few minutes in night and morning to complete your routine. It must become as automatic as cleaning your teeth. Your skin is changing – sloughing off dead cells and growing new ones all the time.

There is no point in wasting money on skin-care products unless you are going to use them. Follow a simple beauty routine that you can adhere to regularly. You can easily spare 5 minutes a day for your skin care routine.

Skin Care During Day

1.

Cleaning: Thoroughly clean your skin while bathing with a face wash according to your skin type Vata/Pitta/Kapha. Ideally, these face washes are enriched with moisturizers giving you a tight, dry feeling after bath. Every alternate day, use a face scrub to gently exfoliate the dead skin.

2.

Moisturizing: Use a good moisturizer as per your skin type and lightly massage it all over the face with the fingertips. Preferably, massage the moisturizer on a wet face so that the skin retains as much moisturizer as possible. Moisturizer acts as a good base either for the make-up or as an essential skin protector for those who wear no make-up.

3.

Use a good sun-protection cream: Indian women are subjected to the harsh ultraviolet rays of the sun all year long that results in darkness and tanning of the skin. Of all the skin’s enemies, the sun is the worst. It drains the moisture from the skin, dehydrating it and helping it to age prematurely.

4.

Tanning and darkening of the skin is due to the production of melanin, which is the skin’s natural response and defense against the power of the sun.

5.

Hence, after moisturizing, you must use a “sunscreen” high in sun protection factor (SPF). The Calamus sunscreen will not make you fairer only but will prevent you from becoming darker.

6.

Even if you do not go out in the sun quite often, yet a good sun protection is essential as even the slightest exposure to the sunlight significantly darkens the skin. An evidence is the footwear marks on the feet or the wrist-watch marks on your wrist, etc.

Skin Care at Night

1.

Cleansing: Pour a little cleansing milk or lotion on your palm, rub the hands together and massage the face. Clean off the lotion and dirt with cotton with gentle upward movements. Repeat the process but this time massage it a little more. Now simply splash your face with cool water.

2.

Toning: Toning closes the pores and stimulates circulation. Use a mild skin toner and pat it on greasier areas of your skin with cotton wool.

3.

Feeding: Take a little moisturizer or a little night cream on your palm and then massage it on your face. In the course of this massage, lightly circle the eyes with the finger tips very, very gently, 20 times. Be sure there is enough cream to keep your finger slipping on the skin.

If you use an eye or wrinkle cream at night, circle it around the eyes. Leave cream on for up to 20 minutes, but always wipe of any surplus before going to bed.

Your entire beauty routine for the night can be accomplished in about 5 minutes. Once it becomes a habit, it encompasses not only cleansing, toning and feeding your skin but stimulating the circulation, removing dead cells and generally giving your skin a longer lease of youthful glow.

Besides regular care, the following tips will help you to acquire a healthy and glowing skin:

1.

Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day to flush off the toxins from your skin.

2.

Keep your digestive system clean and well regulated.

3.

Include at least 2-3 serving of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet.

4.

Drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices. A cocktail of carrot and spinach juice shall do wonders for your skin.

5.

Be happy-when you are happy within, you look beautiful outside.

Take good care of your skin and it will radiate beautifully without the aid of any cosmetics!
